About this event

Are you interested in learning more about mental health, how to identify a person who may be in crisis, or gaining skills in starting the conversation with a person who may be experiencing a mental health challenge?

Virtual Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course that teaches you how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. Participants will learn how to identify, understand, and respond to signs and symptoms of mental illness. This course gives tools to help friends, family members, colleagues, and others in the community. Participants who completed the course are certified in Mental Health First Aid for 3 years.

The Virtual Format requires the use of an online Learning Management System, in which participants will complete 2 hours of a self-paced introductory module to be completed prior to the 5 hour virtual 'face to face' session. Participants must complete the self-paced module to participate in the virtual training. Participants are given at least one week to complete the prework prior to the training date. Participants are required to have a microphone or phone to call into the session. Camera is highly recommended, but not required.

If you have questions on the new format please email Crystal Fuller at cfuller@regionsix.com
